First E-Bay Auction Won! Help me identify exactly what I won :

Hello ladies and gentleman.

Finally got my hands on some Gillette Vintage goodness. I'm excited to clean these puppies up and give them a go. Their dates are as follows:

E1, W1 & C1

As far as I could tell from the chart, is that they're TTO / Tech? Not sure exactly what model they are. Can someone help me out?

I'm pretty confident they're going to clean up beautifully. That green scum will come out I'm sure with some scrubbing bubbles and turtle chrome polish.

You won 3 razors! Congrats.
The 2 on the outside are the same model, a super speed flare tip (silver). The one in the middle is another super speed but I do not have one and am not familiar.

E1 was made during the first quarter of '59
W1 was made the first quarter of '51, which was the first year that date code system was used.
C1 was made the first quarter of '57.

They're all Super Speeds. The middle one is just the earlier 40's style design. Nice pick up! Super Speeds are great shavers.

Congratulations to your first ebay win. Yes, they are all TTO razors: 1959 (E1) flare tip Super-Speed, 1951 (W1) Super-Speed and 1957 (C1) flare tip Super-Speed

Very cool. Thanks a lot guys!

Solid razors? The only DE razors I've used are the Merkur 180 and the Merkur Futur.

I've converted 3 people to DE shaving using those. Great beginner razors (mostly due to low price) and still a regular part of my rotation.

At about 11 dollars each, I'd say I did pretty good.

Does anyone use these models regularly?

After a serious (and ongoing) bout with RAD as soon as I started, I've been using a '40s SS like the middle one in your pic to focus on one razor and help get my technique down. I like it a lot.

Ive got a W1 that was my grandfathers and I use it every few days. Great razor to start out with. It's my goldilocks choice. Not to aggressive, not too mild, juuuust right

Superspeeds are great. Easy to use, easy to learn on, and can deliver a great shave whether you're a noob or a maestro.

Congrats!

Wait, you bid on and won razors without knowing what they were or their value? That's a bad habit to get into....

I know that at $11 CONUS each and being Gillette vintage razors who seem to have no real damage to them, that I couldn't go wrong. I knew they were either Super Speeds or Tech's.

I wanted to pull the trigger on Gixen and see if it worked; it was more of a test run. Now, I have a fun project of cleaning them and comparing them to my current arsenal of razors ;). Modern day DE's aren't cheap, so $11. Pfft! No problem.

my justification is that I can sell
one and get half my money back if not more with a proper cleaning, sterilization and salesmanship :)

I want to get into the bay after
choosing my least fav. heck two of
them are like the same
