First DE safety razor shave

I just did my first DE safety razor shave without major nick. I did 2 pass and that was enough. The shave is close, but my face is burning. I normal,y use alcool based aftershave, but I think that I'll need a kind of hydrating cream. The razor is a Mhule R89

I'm pretty happy with my first shave.

Here is the kit for the first shave. The Glock17 is just in case that razor go crazy and try to kill me . Every newbie is afraid about their first real shave????

Welcome, and I hope that your shaves only improve! If you keep getting facial irritation after the first few weeks (I did), I found the Gillette Tech (vintage) to shave at least as well with no problems. Or an open comb, like a New.

I am curious why your gun is in your bathroom (?). I don't know much about guns, but wouldn't the humidity potentially damage the gun? Plus, the last thing I need in the morning when I wake up is to accidentally grab a firearm instead of my shaving brush or razor.

Welcome to B&B. Just like on the range, practice, practice, practice. Tilting the razor back on the head more till you have trouble feeling the blade may help with a more comfortable shave.

If you squeeze off a couple of rounds between passes the added warmth prevents condensation. Don't ask me how I know...

The burning was gone very fast. Even 9hrs after the shave, my face is very smooth.

The gun was just a joke....... My pseudo is GLOCK_PERFECTION and I was a little affraid about my first DE razor shave. Normally, people grab a gun if they are affraid.......

I don't keep a gun in the bathroom
