First CADE experience

Well, I just got a puck of CADE in trade on B/S/T. I got an amazing shave from it. It lathered beautifully and lasted for my usual 2 1/2 pass shave. The thing is, there was like ZERO scent. In the bowl it was pleasant, albeit barely discernible. Lathered up there was nothing. Zilch.

As good as the shave was, I'm not sure I want to keep it because I'm so "scent driven". I will have to have a couple of more shaves with it to see.

Thoughts from other CADE users?

Nope, triple-milled.

It really is an excellent soap in all other respects aside from scent.

I'm with you. I wasnt "wowed" by cade. It was a decent shave, but it doesn't stand out in a crowd. For $10, it's a good soap.

I like CADE. The scent is faint, but it is there. I can detect it even in the lather. For me, it is a mix of cedar and beeswax. I like it very much.

But generally, I don't like excessive scented soaps. YMMV, as always.

I got quite a rich scent from it. Did seem to dry my face a bit more than other soaps though.

Brand new, right out of the packaging, I had to stick my nose right on the puck to smell it.

It smelled great but was very light. Lathered up I couldn't smell anything. I liked the stuff, but it dried my skin out like crazy so I got rid of it

i get a very nice scent from mine - maybe yours is an oldish puck?

Either way, great soap.

I love it and I get my best shaves from it. I've not noticed that the scent straight from the puck is faint; all I have to do is lift the lid on the bowl and the scent fills the bathroom. It fades a little after rinsing, but I can usually detect a little on my skin until about noon or so.

Seems like the QC on the scent is a little shoddy. There seem to be two extremes.

Cade and Proraso are a great combination for a cool, rich lather. I'm in Florida, so I mix Proraso with many soaps.

I'm glad I got a strong puck then

The scent of my puck is an amazingly strong and delicious cedar. The scent lingers in my bathroom and on my skin for a good hour or so after shaving. If I follow a Cade shave with Cade aftershave splash the scent lingers on my skin for at least 3 or 4 hours - I love Cade!

Just this weekend I was shaving in the bathroom while my girlfriend was watching TV in the living room. There is a hallway and a dining room between us and my girlfriend could tell I was using Cade because she could smell it from where she sat. She yelled out from the couch "are you using cade baby", "yes" I replied, "mmmm.....yummy" she replied back
