These are spot on having lived in the South for five years. Actually it was mostly Texas which has its own thing going. Not in the South, it is Texas. Anyway was sitting at a ball game and an elderly couple behind us was cheering on the team. It was the first time I heard the word "on" pronounced with two syllables. "Come OH-WEN!!!" It actually took me a minute until I realized they were not calling for "Owen" but were cheering on the team. Seriously.

Those people won’t leave me alone.
