What's new

finally pulled the trigger on some MWF

You are in for a treat. Top tier soap for sure. All the reported consternation about lathering kept me from ordering one for months....months wasted as it lathers easily and superbly.

Enjoy.

Great soap! Been using almost exclusively for the past 6 weeks. Can't get enough of it. Short tip...MWF likes cool to tepid water to make lather with. Tried using hot water and lather was horrible. As always YMMV. Have fun!

Keep us posted, I'm interested in what you think of it.

I love the stuff, great lather, skin feels great afterwards and the smell is just crisp and clean.

I also pulled the trigger on MWF when I ordered my Harvard.... I almost exclusively use Soaps and am very boring as I only use one type puck and a couple of shave sticks

Some of us did not love it right away. If you are under-whelmed at first, don't give up on it. It needs a hungry brush and a lot of elbow grease.

I have this fine soap in my rotation and enjoy it very much. I hope that you will find it as enjoyable as most of us here do.

Regards,

Doug

MWF is one of my favourite soaps, I love it!

Just remember to not use water above 39 degrees celcius as it destroys the lanolin, according to Mitchell's.

This has been my experience as well. I love the soap though. The ceramic bowl is great too!:thumbup1:

Thanks for the tip guys. I'll dial back the heat next time, though its already been great for me with hot water.

Well, two shaves in I am, in fact, underwhelmed by the soap, but I honestly haven't gotten the lather where I want it, so I'm not giving up just yet. I'm going to use it exclusively for the next week and see what happens.

I find my best MWF lathers come when I use my Omega professional boar. Second best come from a short loft scrubby badger, like say TGN finest knots. I tend to overload product as a habit, so I think that is part of the reason MWF has always agreed with my lathering technique.

Mitchell's Wool Fat shaving soap! Check it out in the reviews section and search the archives for an overwhelming amount of testimonials.

I had my best DE shave this morning, and it's probably not surprising to the Fat lovers out there that it was this soap that helped deliver it!

I was a little disappointed in MWF at first, but after a couple of mornings with it, it began lathering much easier. Love the way it looks sinkside, too!
