What's new

Finally picked up some Thayer's today.

I'm a witch hazel person. I've used it since I was a kid for acne but I don't remember ever finding anything but Dickinson Witch Hazel so today, in GNC, lo and behold a bottle of Thayer's (and Grandpa's Tar Soap, didn't know they carried that either) in Rose. After a quick shave....

Wow, I'm a convert. I don't miss the alcohol at all. My only concern is whether or not I'll be missing some of the astringent properties I used to get with the Dickinson.

I use Dickensons and havent used any thing else yet, I have heard great things about Thayer's but havent bought any yet, pricy and well I dunno if the bottles are as bit as Dickensons...volume etc makes it worth it to me. If Thayers comes in the quantity that Dickensons dose, I'd buy it but if not then no as currently my funds are iffy and small...sucks but yes. I like Dickensons just fine, might try Thayers later down the road all depending of course. What is so WOW about it if I may ask? Is it the scent or? I wonder what it has or doesn't have in comparison to Dickenson's...you've gotten my interest in this brand again.

The scent is nice and the lack of alcohol burn is nice but what really got me about the product is how quickly my face seemed to develop this slick, smooth, and healthy feeling. I'm not sure about you, but when I put on Dickinson, my hands almost seem to drag across my face and neck, feeling almost plastic-y for a minute or two. With the Thayer's there was none of that. I still like Dickinson, I've used it for so long I doubt I'm going to chuck out what has been a long time and great product for me. But to be honest, I feel like I haven't really been aware of what WH was supposed to be.

Well that is interesting! Yes I get that "drag" as well, and while I figured that's just the nature of the beast...perhaps not. I will ultimately have to grab a bottle and give it a try some time then, I take it that the little extra in price is worth it...I have no place that carries Thayer's in my area so online buying is my only option.

Thayer's (and witch hazel, in general) really is great stuff. My face is looking so much healthier since I added it to my routine.

Last couple weeks I have been spraying thayers from a decant bottle vs just slapping it on. I really like the spray..
