What's new

FINALLY found THE razor for me.

So over the course of 3-4yrs, I've been searching for the perfect razor after dealing with razor burn, and those disposable razors.

First, some background on myself. I'm half black half white, so my hair grows in mannnny different directions and lengths. My skin is also really sensitive to razors.

I went through:
  1. Cheap Disposables Multi Blade (Gillette, BIC, etc) HATED these, irritated my skin
  2. Better Disposables Single Blade Shaved better, but often cut myself, specially under under the chin
  3. DE Safety Razor (Merkur 38C) Loved these, could never shape facial hair with these, and again under the chin was a nightmare and time consuming
  4. Whipped Dog Shaving Straight Razor Even got a stone to sharpen, began HATING maintaining a blade, I'm always busy and these took time to maintain
  5. Other Disposables (Schick Hydro 5, Gillette Fusions) Shaved great, some even under the chin, but are expensive, and the gel on them gets messy.
  6. Shavette Straight Razors Loved this, but again under the chin wasn't so smooth. Was cheap, effective, and I could shape my facial hair easy
  7. Adjustable DE Safety Razor PERFECT. Amazing first shave, I use setting 1 all over at the moment with a feather. Cut myself once, but I was able to get under my chin muchhhh easier than previous razors, and blades aren't too expensive. I still use the shavette to get that crisp line with my facial hair.

The Adjustable DE Safety Razor I use is the Gillette Slim Adjustable 1-9
Hope this helps someone out! I didn't want to bother with brushes, bowls, soaps, etc. I use the Neutrogena Razor Defence Shave Gel, and sometimes Nivea For Men Sensitive Shave Gel. Both shave great. Glad I found my razor at 21, and not 50yrs old.
