Finally found the perfect blade (for me)

Been devouring the forums and reviews and not posting much, but after going through the WCS sampler pack and others, using a Fatboy, 3 superspeeds and a red-tip super speed, I found Feathers as too unforgiving and Astras too irritating, Red pack IPs were the best, followed by 7 O'Clock Yellow, Wilkinson White Label, Crystal, and Bics (surprisingly), I finally found the best combo of smoothness and sharpness in a sealed '70s 2-pack (only 2?) of Gillette Super Stainless -aka The Spoiler.
Gillette Platinum Plus were very sharp but gave me much irritation and weepers.
The Super Stainless are actually getting better with each shave -on 6 days now.
In a '56 Red Tip Super Speed, I'm finally getting the perfect shave.
Any recommendations on a modern match for the Super Stainless Spoilers?
Haven't tried Iridiums, Sharks, Gillette Swedes, Super Blues, or Bleue Extras.

having never shaved w/ the SSS, I have no idea. Better stock up if you can(although speaking of sharp and smooth, super Iridiums come to mind).

I have yet to pay the ungodly price of spoilers, and I have yet to find any real swedes, but I can tell you that Bleue Extras, Sharks, and Iridiums are great. I can also suggest you try Bolzanos and Souplex... both of these were a pleasant surprise to me. Iridiums are still the top, personally speaking (in almost every razor I put 'em in, they're awesome), but if you want a cheaper price point at about the same quality, you'll probably like the sharks. Why spend a buck a blade for 6-7 shaves when one can spend twenty cents for three at the same comfort and sharpness?

I think you have a lot more blades to try over the next couple months, frankly. I'll be looking forward to your comparisons, so pass them along, OK?

Thanks Chester and all for the recommendations, I'm placing an order from WCS for these 3. Looking forward to giving these a run-through in the red-tip.

After having good results with the real sharp guys
(7 Oclock yellow
Feather
Iridiums
Red IPs)
I found Gillette Super Thins and I haven't looked back. Sharp, smooth, cheap, NO GLUE DOTS and they don't take a layer of skin off like Feathers (which i still use in certain razors)

Super Thins are great blades for the money. Jason (dridiot) sells them in his thread for $6 or $7, I don't remember the exact price, for 50. I bought 100 and they have served me well.

There are a number of blades that are as sharp and the good old Gillette stainless blades but you will struggle to find any modern blade that lasts as long. You'll find that both Super Iridiums and Feathers are as sharp or perhaps even sharper but in my case, I only get three shaves out of both. I've just finished a Gillette Spoiler that I got ten shaves out of.
