FFFMM - Shave #17

Razor:
RazoRock Lupo .95 SB
Blade: Dorco Titan
(7th Use)
Brush: AP Shave Co. Aluminum Layered Comfort handle w/Mühle STF 25mm @~55mm
Soap: Unscented With Beeswax by Stirling Soap Co.

Post-Shave:
Mennen Skin Bracer
Duke Cannon Ice Cold After-Shave Balm

Three pass shave (last pass is more or less cleanup).

I enjoyed the shave except for the weepers I created. Even if it were my own fault, my next shave will be with a fresh new blade. The aftershave gave me quite a bite as well. Even so, it was still a darn fine shave, DFS.

I nice shave earlier this evening. Didn’t get a full BBS but, it was DFS for sure. Had a few pesky whiskers near the Adam’s Apple and I had a few other things I had to accomplish so, it’s for the next shave. Sometimes you just got to take what you can get. Simple enough.

Great shaves to all….

Razor: GameChanger .68P
Blade: Gillette Platinum (15)
Soap: Mike's Barber Shop (38)
Brush: Omega Jade Boar (56)

This was the last shave out of the Gillette Platinum and I'm very happy with it's performance over the entirety of the 15 shave run. It was as smooth or smoother than an AstraSP over it's whole lifespan, only feeling a little duller in the very last pass.

@Rosseforp's recommendation of this blade with this razor for the event couldn't have been more perfect. Thank you sir!

Last night’s luxury shave
GEM Micromatic Open Comb
Personna GEM PTFE (6)
Damp washcloth aka “shave binky”
Simpson Wee Scot 13mm badger brush
Pre-shave: hot shower and a dollop of aloe
Lather: Wickhams 1912 Club Cola Soap, face-lathered
Aftershave: Ulm Nom
Post-shave: face wash with shave binky
Post-shave: Mentholated Equate Moisturizer

Cleaned my brush with citric acid and dishwashing liquid earlier in the day. Rinsed it out with warm water throughout the day before shaving and that seemed to help keep the first lather from being overly frothy.

The shave was quick, comfortable, and close until I reached my upper lip and then it was just quick and close, but no weepers or irritation. It will get there with technique soon or a shim in ten days.

And a gear picture for @Chan Eil Whiskers

FFFMM 14/31

Razor: Merkur Progress (4-4-1)
Blade: Treet platinum(1)
Soap: Mudder Focker face lather
Brush: RR Bruce
Pre: n/a
Post: Witchhazel/XXX

Shower and shave this morning before bed went smooth and easy. Loaded a new blade after the last shave and set it to 4. Forgot my glasses this morning so just left it at 4 then cranked down to 1 for last pass. Little inattention left a little weeper on my chin.
DFS++ overall.

Be well
Jay

RazoRock Lupo .95 SB
Blade: Dorco Titan
(1st Use)
Brush: AP Shave Co. Aluminum Layered Comfort handle w/Mühle STF 25mm @~55mm

Post-Shave:
Stirling's Scarn Aftershave Splash (no menthol)
Stirling's Post Shave Balm (unscented)

Three pass shave (last pass is more or less cleanup).

A new Titan blade gave me a noticeably smooth shave. Though the effects from yesterday's blade lingered ... the burn from the aftershave was a reminder. I had one minor weeper, but I think it was one that reappeared from yesterday. Overall, a darn good shave, DFS+.

9th Fixed Four shave (4 day growth)
9th shave on this blade

First pass felt tuggy, but that's not a huge surprise on four day growth. Second pass felt much better, but a third pass was needed. There's no way this blade is waining after just nine shaves though, so I cleaned it and flipped it.

Still feels weird having the blade locate on the baseplate instead of the cap.

It may well have been operator error though, as I had hospital tests yesterday, which I am still feeling the after effects of.

Fixed 4 Set up:
Rockwell T2 SS-Bic Chrome Platinum-APShaveCo. 28mm Silksmoke Winter-Rockwell shave cream Barbershop
Optional Gear:
Aqua Velva a/s splash Ice Blue-Dior Homme 2020 eau de toilette

The shave was excellent. Easy suds and an even easier 3 passes that produced a near BBS finish. I felt a slight patch of tiny pesky whiskers on the chin and under the lower lip. Decided to go for a quick touch up and buff chasing the baby’s buttocks. I should have left well enough alone. Disaster struck as somehow I lost the handle or grip on the T2 as I was ready to start the buffing regime right at the bend of the chin. WHAM! Nice little gouge and peel. How it happened I haven’t the slightest clue. Chalk it up the one of those things such as karma or the shave gods frowned upon my decision to catch Flipper. I was fuming but, first aid was paramount to the situation. A quick rinse, alum & stiptic pen followed by some blood clotting antiseptic spray. Under control in less than 5 minutes. FRIC-FRAC, FRAC & FRIC!!!! Anyways, it might take a couple of days to let it heal some. I licked my wounds and poured myself a three finger measure of Knob Creek 12 Year Bourbon to ponder the shave tragedy that just occurred. Yes, I’m an imbecile/idiot.

Great shaves to all…
