Favorite gal-pal film: The Heat. I'm not a fan of Melissa McCarthy, but this one is funny with or without the profanity edited. It reminds me of the great (guy) buddy movies of the 80s & 90s (Lethal Weapon, Midnight Run, Loose Cannons, Dragnet, Short Time, etc).

Favorite woman-centric film: A Very Long Engagement. French film about a woman (Audrey Tautou) searching for answers about her fiance's death in the trenches of WW1. Enough trench warfare scenes and mystery to keep any guy interested in this love story.
