The e-mail ad I got from Federal was the 1st I had heard of them.
I wonder how penetration compares to solid shot.

Interesting, they don't tell you what the charge weight is, only FPS (1250). The standard 00 buck loads give the charge weight (1 13/16oz), and an FPS of 1210.
So, if you have higher velocity and reduced recoil, you have to be pushing a lighter payload.
Regular 00 is ~ $1.60 at the moment, X2 is $2.29, or just under 1/2 again as much. If I were worried about over penetration, I might keep a few boxes on hand.

^ Actually not a bad idea if one was reduced to handloads for home protection if nothing else was available.
