Happily, my "exception" to the GRUYERE arrived, so I introduced a new tool to my shaving accouterments.
On my first use, it has been a nice addition...
It certainly lathers differently than my previous bowl, and looks very nice indeed. Using MdC made an overflow of lather, so I think I will have to rethink my loading of my brush. Previously, my RV-Shavemac brush liked to hog lather, but whatever I'm doing with the new CC bowl (or maybe the bowl itself) seems to have lather just spill into (and out of) the bowl.
Might have gotten carried away and rushed my shave, getting a couple of tiny nicks on the chin for my inattention. Overall, though, really like the bowl and got a nice DFS.

Bowl: Captain's Choice - The Admiral
Soap: Martin de Candre, Fougère

EDIT: i did the lather with a wet Yaqi and the shave cream. The cream was good and smelled nice. It was the creating lather on my face that was bad for me...
I lost the already used sample cream pack, somehow putting a sample shave cream pack on my lap just made it disappear... hahaha... i don't know the lather's thickness but it was slick for me. The Yaqi made a lather for 2 passes. It wasn't unpleasant but something i don't want to do again, unless i have to.
The 1959 Gillette Fatboy loaded with the Rapira Blade i only did a ATG & XTG passes but my face is tiny beard hair free now. And as smooth as a full 3 pass shave.
No Omega Alum but Stirling Balm showed up and finished off the shave smoothly...
When i went into their bathroom i saw nor felt any irritation or any blood, nice...

Used my Gillette Slim for the first time today, on 3. Milder than the Old Type, got a super comfortable shave that’s reasonably close. Nice razor.
