First shave of the month: Old Type with Elios blade (3) and Muhle soap. I’ve been clearing out some older creams and aftershaves one by one, but I’m on the road so I brought my puck of Muhle soap for easy hand lathering. Much better shave than I’ve been getting with the other cream! It’s also easier to travel with a tiny container of my current favored aftershave balm, rather than the one I’ve been working through recently. Who knew wet shaving while traveling could be such a nice experience.
I’d like to join the GRUYERE but this is my first hard soap purchase and I’m not sure how long it will last — definitely not the full year as I’ve been daily shaving in 2025. Glad to join the GRUME, hello everyone

Preshave: Hot washcloth
Lather: Saponificio Varesino Opuntia
Brush: Yaqi 24mm synthetic cashmere
Razor: GC1.05 SB, Al Handle, Astra SP #2
Bowl: Turkish copper
Post-shave: Nivea Balm
I used Opuntia for SV Saturday. The blade was pleasantly smoothed out for its second shave. I got a comfortable near-BBS.

I think you can put a GRUYERE exception, like another puck or two, in when joining.First shave of the month: Old Type with Elios blade (3) and Muhle soap. The rules are tighter for a full year but you can do the monthly GRUME here to get the flavor and stock up in December for the 2026 sabbatical.I considered that.
