That’s the lovely hard water from the Netherlands. The Karve is untreated and therefore the brass is open to outside influences, most likely air and water. Air gives it its patina and water sometimes leaves stains.

Putting your name on the waiting list puts you out of GRUYERE, but making the payment doesn't? I think that rule is a little odd. For GRUME, it's a matter of when you spend the money, so unfortunately, you're out, as you said.

If it was just a head shave, that's an "extreme haircut" and you're safe. If it was a full shave, you're out. Please let us know which.

On one hand, I'm sad that this SOTM has ended. Superb performance and after a month doesn't look like it's hardly been touched.
On the other hand, I stuck with this single Minora for OBiF, but man am I glad to have binned it after today. It was really starting to feel its edge.

completed the Feb GRUME without any issue or incident.... or did i? I got this lovely brush yday as a gift for my bday, it was a total surprise. My wife organized this with the brush maker in total secrecy, so was quite surprised when I opened it up. Nice to have my wife supporting my shaving

question is did I fail the february GRUME, not sure on specific rules on gifts.. here she is

FEB GRUME still in.
Early start to FFFMM 2/31

Razor: Merkur Progress
Blade: Treet platinum(2)
Soap: Mudder Focker (1)
Brush: RR Bruce
Pre: non
Post: Alum, Mudder splash

3 passes all on setting 3 = DFS+. Setting 3 seemed about as smooth as #1, maybe slightly more efficient, didnt seem like much more blade feel. Had to pull out the alum for the bleeder I gave myself (adamsapple) so I followed up with the splash. The missus gave it a thumbs up! Found a small container to scoop some soap into (28.3g) hence the count on the soap. Another nice shave before work.
