Feather SEIKAN FAS-10

I meant to buy some Feather SEIKAN double edge blades, but didn’t pay attention and bought single edge blades instead. Two questions—

1. Does anyone know what it says on the blade? H-A-O-H-C ???

2. Instead of selling or trading them away, is there an inexpensive single edge razor that’s worth buying to be able to use them?

It's meant to be used with Feather Autostrop razor. I guess FAS is an abbreviation of Feather Autostrop.

I have no idea of what HAOHC means.

I listed a Feather Autostrop for sale but It's not inexpenisve. I think the blade can also be used with Valet Autostrop.

The blade works in all 'autostrop'-style razors, and is also the blade for all 'One Blade' razors.

In my experience, it is sharp but dulls very quickly, providing only 2-3 good shaves. The other problem with these blades is that they are fairly expensive, especially on a per-shave basis, since they dull so quickly.

Autostrops, last time I checked, were not that expensive. They have a steampunk style that is appealing to a lot of people, and they shave fine.

If you like the look of an Autostrop and can afford one, you could give them a try. Alternatively, you could sell the blades on the BST. There are probably still One Blade users or Autostrop fans that would take them off your hands.

I don't think the blade is trying to spell anything with its cut-outs. They were designed to make the blade fit perfectly into the Autostrop head. One Blade, as far as I can tell, made a pact with the blade maker to have this blade be proprietary for their razors. With the cutouts, it fits perfectly. It is difficult to alter lther SE blades to fit the One Blade.

I hope this was helpful.
