About to pull the trigger on a feather straight. But can't decide on which handle, folder or straight. Any impressions on Feather handles, good or bad? Seems like with the straight handle you've always got a very sharp blade exposed.
I tried both when I was giving straight shaving a go. It's a personal preference thing. I liked the non-folding a little better but got the same shave with both.
There are videos on youtube of people shaving with both styles if you haven't seen them.
Feather does make a plastic guard for the non-folding but my NF DX did not come with one as I recall. My folding RG and DX did come with a case but it was kind of a cheap display case, not something you can use for travel. It has a plastic base the razor lays on and then a clear plastic dome piece that goes over it.
Do like I did and get both. There are days when only the straight handle will do, and days when the folding handle is the razor to use. That way you'll be ready for whatever is needed that day.
Really though, both give a very nice shave, its all a matter of what is needed. I have both the Feather and the Kai in the folding and non folding razors.
