FB TTO knob slides out

I was cleaning up a bunch of razors last night, and one of them is (albeit dirty) affected by a curious malfunction. You know how when you turn the TTO knob on any FB or slim, it remains in-place and the doors open? With this one, the TTO knob "unscrews" about 5-6mm or so. Then, to get the doors open, you have to push the TTO knob up, back into the handle. I seem to recall there being a post about this kind of behavior recently, but I can find it. Can anyone point me to the right thread, or refresh my memory as to whether or not the condition is hopeless?

There is a thread here somewhere that describes a fix for this using wire or a crimp ring. But to be honest it did not sound so easy to me.

I have one that does the same thing, however, that's not all that's wrong with it. I think once I get the adjuster unjammed and recrimp the knob, it might actually work.
