Pine essential oil (Lightfoot's) has benefits, but it's different from pine tar (dark dense semi‐liquid, with a different odour profile).
Personal favourite (birch) tar soap: Klar Birkenteerseife.

Luxurious Bastard Beard Co makes and awesome Pine Tar bar. He is good people and has very high quality products made by himself.
I don't know how I missed this thread. I love the smell of pine tar in the morning. I've been using pine tar soaps for years. I can't remember all I've tried, but Grandpa's and Packer's are the only ones I still use. Some pine tar soaps are more pine than tar scented. I prefer the tar scent. Grandpa's lathers white, Packer's a light brown, but some soaps lather a dark brown, staining washcloths and leaving spots on the sink and shower walls. While sometimes I'll use a different body or hand soap, I have a buzz cut and always use a Grandpa's or Packer's pine tar bar to wash my hair, followed by a diluted ACV rinse. For me it works better than a dandruff shampoo.
There's also Tiroler Reine Zirbe: a pine (oil) soap, which is excellent, imho.
Made in Austria by Walde Seifen (Est.1777!).
