Favorite Aquatics

I know about Creed's:
- Imperial Millesime
- Silver Mountain Water
- Erolfa

Of other houses list anything that reminds of you of beaches or fresh streams that are your favorites.

These come to mind off the top of my head:
T&H 1805
Bvlgari Aqua
L'eau D'Issey Pour Homme

Looking up Basenotes I found:

The Different Company Sel de Vetiver
Profumum Acqua di Sale (whoa expensive!)
Heeley Sel Marin
i Profumi di Firenze Brezza di Mare
Farmacia SS. Annunziata dal 1561 Hyle Eau de Parfum

Bvlgari Aqua was mentioned LOTS. I've tried it briefly and found it to be an imitation of Erolfa which disappointed but I didn't wait for a drydown or try it on my skin, just on the card. I may have to give it a second look. I don't know if anybody on this site has tried the ones I listed.

The only one I would consider wearing is Tommy for Men, and only really for its nostalgic value...

I do not consider GIT to be an aquatic in the least. Thus far I have not met an aquatic that has struck my fancy, but I will remain open-minded on the matter. I'm not sure why, but the following Creed fragrances all produce the same stomach-churning reaction to me:
Himalaya
Millésime Impérial
Tabarome Millésime
Creed Royal Water
Creed Silver Mountain Water

I'll be following this thread with a morbid curiosity.

Probably my favorite type of frag. Bulgari Aqua, T&H 1805, Aqua di Gio, Lacoste essential, Polo Sport, Polo Black. Some of the Creeds smell okay, But do not last that long on me.

L'eau D'Issey - The one that started the genre (or was one of the first of the first). It's definitely been copied, rewritten, xeroxed, and driven into the ground by nearly every perfumer out there.

I sing in accord with others who have posted that this is my least favorite genre, but it is my wife's favorite....:mad3:

Luckily, I was able to turn her onto Windsor recently and I hope to be able to begin moving away from the aquatics when we are together.

Even though I don't care for aquatics, Issey is probably my top choice due to the nostalgia.

I don't really understand why women love aquatics so much... I was at a perfume counter the other day with my girlfriend, who thinks frags are interesting but isn't really all that into them, and she damn near passed out when she smelled Acqua di Gio for the first time.

I still won't wear it, though. Luckily, she likes Blenheim Bouquet!

I think it's because women are comparing men who smell like Acqua di Gio (lots of guys)with some conformist idea of success or quality. Scents are like food. Once you get into them you want more refined quality experiences. Just keep talking about how cool the notes are in different scents to get her curiosity.

Cool Water, because it aspires to be something - the stately Green Irish Tweed. It misses, of course, but I appreciate the effort.
