Fatip Pairing.

Good Sunday all. I am finding that I really like my new Fatip Gentile. No issues at all with alignment. And a pleasure to look at.
For those that have course hair. What Blade do you find works best in it for you? Would it be the same blade for the Fatip Open Comb? Thank you!

What works for others might not be YOUR Grail Blade for you, as the Blade does cutting, and Razor is nothing but Blade Holder, with Exposure GAP. I find the best Sharpe cheap blade for me to be BLACK 7 Clock.

As far as I remember my top 3 blades worked well in my Piccolo. I don't have a Gentile so I can't say about that one.

Try the Bic Chrome Platinum blade; it works well with my King C Gillette razor.

I use a Fatip open comb slant, and I get best results with sharper blades like Gillette Silver Blue, Kai, and Feather. But the magic in this razor works with just about every blade I've tried.

I haven't tried a Gentile but Feathers are my go-to for the OC. Bic CPs are a close second.

For general use, try Gillette Nacet, Perma-Sharp Super, Silver Blue.

For something really sharp, try BIC Chrome Platinum.

For something inexpensive and good, try Lord Silver Star.

My favourite blades are Feathers and Permasharps, regardless of razor.

I used Feathers in a Fatip OC almost exclusively for the best part of a decade, before I got back into the "hobby" aspects of shaving.

I have similar course beard growth and although I don’t have a fatip gentile, I do have the V1 and V2 piccolo and the V2 grande. All open combs, and I’ve found the following blades work for me:

Astra SP: a good all rounder and providing I look after my blade angle there won’t be any irritation. I get 4-5 shaves from these

Astra SS: similar in performance to the SP, only difference is they don’t last as long, only about 2/3 uses

Rapira super stainless: my best all around blade, good for any length of hair and lasts for a good 5-6 shaves without showing any signs of dulling

Bic chrome platinum: a bit of overkill in any fatip razor,very sharp and efficient but quick to bite and causes significant irritation

Ladas super stainless: performance similar to the Rapiras, but with slightly reduced durability; I only get about 2-3 shaves max with these

Voskhod: the best balance of sharpness and smoothness but similar durability to the Ladas. They tend to cut a bit like the Rapiras
