What's new

Fatboy's sweet spot.

When I want a more aggressive shave I go to the Fatip, Futur, or I turn up the Progress. On a lark I used the Fatboy on a setting of 5 (I rarely go above 3) and had an absolutely terrific shave (Super Iridium and Institute Karite did not hurt either) with no tugging, no aftershave sting. Up until that moment I felt that the Fatboy was a very good razor, but really more of a "must-have." I think I've stumbled upon how to make it an excellent razor - turn it up.

Thanks for listening.

Yeah, same here. The Fatboy doesn't really start singing for me until I get up to 5 or higher.

Same here. I have to crank up my FatBoy to a 5 for a smooth non dragging shave, Also same goes for the slim crank it up to a 7 and see the magic before your eyes )

I start my shaves with a Fatboy on 6 for the first pass, turn down to 5 on the second pass and then turn down to 4 on the last pass (perhaps even switch to 3 just for my moustache area during that last pass!)

I never got a good shave from a fatboy until I turned it up to 7. Then and only then did the razor really work and boy does it work well. In the winter I've learned to use it at a lower setting, 5 or 6.

Try a lower setting for the fist pass and a higher one for the subsequent passes. It sounds counterintuitive, but that approach can really work well.

Always loosen the silo doors before adjusting.

Great razor.
