fatboy question

Hi all ,
I recently was offered the chance to buy 2 fatboys from a local person here , he is wanting about 65 $ for them one of them has much brassing on the razor , though works fine and the other razor shows normal use as in not much brassing etc and works fine . Would this be a fair price for the 2 ? the dates for them are 1960 for the first and 1959 for the second

Thanks all and Happy Thanksgiving

Jeff

I bought an F3 in good condition for $35 shipped, about 2 years ago. I gave it to my brother because it was his birthday razor. Since then, I've been looking for another Fatboy for myself, and most of them are in the same price range.

$65 for two of them does not sound unreasonable ... It all depends on how badly you want them.

Talk to the guy and see if he'll split it up for you ... you don't really need 2 of the same razor, but buying one for somewhere in the $30s should be OK.

I picked up a user grade with brassing etc of B/S/T for $15.00. Picked up one in nice condition along with a Travel Tech, and SS Flaretip in the same lot off Ebay for $32.00.

They are out there at decent prices. $32.50 a piece is not horrible but you can do much better with a bit of patience. All in all it is your decision, good luck to you.:biggrin1:

I have to agree with what's already been posted. $65 for user grade and slightly better is out of line. With a little bit of work, you can do much better. At any rate, I would not need two, especially one user grade. The $65 would be much better spent at BST for a near mint example. Or post a WTB. $65 is a lot of coin, even for a fatboy and would get you a really fine example.

I got mine for 30 shipped, zero brassing, numbers still black, and a e4 date code allowing me to dismantle the thing for a deep cleaning. If you can be patient and wait for the good deals you could do much better. And, after all half the fun lies in the "hunt".
