fatboy cases - spring loaded?

Is this true?
Is there a spring in there that lifts the lid?
I've had quite a few cases come through here and never once have I found a spring loaded one.

It's twue, it's twue, I have one right now, look in the crack where the hinge is on the right side there should be a little black wire spring but after 50+ years they kinda lose their springiness. Blade Boy

You probably forgot to poke holes in the lid, that's why yours doesnt' work anymore.

wouldn't a SLIM be required to fit inside the narrow space?
