Fatboy 1/4 turn spreads silo doors. Normal or bad?

Got lucky at the antique store and snagged an above user grade. No brassing all paint and just some green on it. Did my first shave with it on 4.

I compared it with my SS and noted it had a gap of business card on both sides of the main post. Is that ok? Also, what is the part that would spread the doors? The symmetry looks good on every thing ells. It is a 1958 third quarter. Gave it the scrubbing bubbles treatment and pored boiling water over it. No luck so far.

Mine does the same, first it closes and when I tighten it using that last 1/4 or 1/2 turn it opens up a little, not much but clearly visible.
My slim doesn't do that.
The FB still shaves good so it doesn't really bother me but I have been wondering what causes it as there doesn't seem to be any wear on the mechanism that closes it.

My Fatboy does the same thing. When I twist just enough to where the doors close, both doors fit perfectly against the center bar. As I continue to twist toward the final 1/4 turn lock, one side will open up a bit and then go perfect again followed by the same thing on the other side. When I do the final 1/4 turn lock down, both sides open slightly. When I release the 1/4 turn lock, both doors lie perfectly on the center bar. I'm guessing it's normal because the razor is functioning perfectly as it should and I know that it is clean and sound on the inside. If it's functioning fine otherwise, I wouldn't let it bother me.

If it shaves well, then there isn't an issue - these adjustables often have different characteristics - I've yet to find two the same.

The doors should not do that but as long as the blade is held securely, then it will still shave just as well. I have a mint condition 40's Super Speed which has an issue with the silo doors but the blade is securely in place and it shaves well.

So what should/could be done to fix that issue and what's causing it?
@Onotoman: If you replate those do you adjust them? I've been thinking of getting mine replated as there is some plate loss mainly under the silo doors, if this issue could be looked at at the same time that would make it great.
