Fat handle tech question

I'm thinking of picking one up but I'm curious if there's more than one style and, if so, what are the differences. Thanks so much.

There are gold-plated and nickel-plated fat handled Techs. They perform identically -- which is to say they are both great, relatively mild, precision razors. Personally, I prefer the fat handled Tech to the regular barrel type.

in addition to the fat handle Tech there's a British made thin handle Tech. it looks the same as the fat handle version, except with a thinner handle

Gentlemen: thank you for the replies. I guess I was more curious as to whether there were any differences among the fat handle techs (aside from choice of plating) such as blade exposure, etc.

FWIR the 1938-1941 Techs (with the triangular slots in the base plate) are said to shave a little more aggressively.

I have just purchased one with the triangular slots and one with the straight slots and I'll be able to confirm this in about two weeks.

Great. I'd certainly be interested to hear your impressions.

Actually, the triangular slot variety was around into the mid-1940's. It was commonly found in military razor sets during WWII.
