Fat Friday

Double Fat Friday (MWF & FaTip)

IMG_4428.jpg

Grated my new puck of MWF into a tall-sided ceramic bowl. Haven't shaved with The Fat in probably half a year. Wish I'd been using it all winter long, I forgot how nice the post-shave feels.

Notes to today’s shave:

Third shave with my Green Cult Flask. And also third shave with the Tiger, perhaps against better judgment but only one way to find out. And it actually turned out to be a nice shave. No BBS, no full blown DFS, but overall smooth without irritation, nicks or redness is perfectly fine in my book!

I loaded super heavy (for me) on the Fat - I think I counted to 30. It worked because I had a nice rich and creamy lather. Just what the shaving doctor ordered. Great glide for this razor and blade. I guess sufficient cushion against potential harhness.

This razor is fun (@flask28 - wonderful choice!!)! It somehow is less intuitive than any of my other razors (well the Flatboy perhaps) and therefore more sides to be explored.

More details on today's shave can be found in my journal here.

Enjoy your shave!

Notes to today’s shave:

The fourth run of Ti95SCL and the Tiger. And again a comfortable and smooth shave with a nice DFS end result. The blade’s performance is wavering. I think it has shaves left and is in better shape than the first blade I used.

Further details can be found in my journal here.

Enjoy your shaves!

I have been shaving with a Gold Tech and Nacet blade made great by the Fat all week. I've been busy. However, today I got out my S.K. Colling straight razor with blue paua shell scales, my ocean mist Rudy Vey 25mm Muhle STF brush, and The Fat. I got a fantastic shave. I forgot to take pictures. I'll see what I can do.

The Fat is so easy to lather. If there is a rare time when the lather begins to disappear, it is still on the skin and very slick. Normally, there is never such a scenario. Clean smelling, hydrating, slick, smooth shaving.

Notes to today’s shave:

Third shave with the Matador and the Tiger. I felt a sudden drop in smoothness at the first stroke and it remained that way throughout the shave. Nothing harsh or anything, just noticeable compared to yesterday.
MWF provided the glide and slickness with a nice soft post shave sensation.

Nice way to start Friday!

Further details and note can be found here in my journal.

Enjoy your shave!

I didn't get to shave today! :crying: My hands are hurting so badly I wasn't able to hold the razor. I had to go get some steroid injections in both hands. Rest assured, however, that when I do shave again that it will be with The Fat.

Notes to today’s shave:

I came up with this Frankenrazor: the Fatype. The cap from the OT fits perfectly on the Fatip baseplate with an added bonus of spot on alignment!

The Tiger on its ninth run performed as new! Super performance with as near BBS as possible.I did not expect that to happen!

Further details and more can be found in my journal here.

Enjoy yours today!

Hey you got the new 1.35 already! And apparently it’s a great shave!

Enjoy,

Used the Fat with an APShaveCo G5A for facelathering. The Fat was fantastic. The brush isn’t suited for face lathering. I’m going through all of my brushes to see which ones are suitable for face lathering and which ones don’t do so well. I’m using the fat as my baseline soap.
