What's new

Fantastic restoration by Doc

You really cannot go wrong sending this man a blade. This was a whippeddog restoration. He recommended black horn for the rescale and it looks beautiful. Please excuse my horrendous photos, as they really do not do this justice.

ALSO: the honing job makes an edge so shiny that I can almost use the reflection to shave with. And I bought another razor (the Ehrlick he had for sale) from him, so I can tell that edge was no fluke.

ALSO: you guys all seriously missed out on that Ehrlick that I mentioned above. $65, and I'm betting it's the equal of almost any new razor you care to name for sale for triple the amount. I got it, and I'm not sharing!

:blushing:

Thanks for the kind words.

I actually forgot to "play-doh" this one.

Glad you liked it.

Please let me know how the shaves go.

great looking razor but from the doc???? i think he using film in secret!!! .........good work doc just kidding.

Congrats on a fine razor. I also had a restore job from Alfredo and for the price the quality is very reasonable, and his edges seem very good.

What a STUNNING job! Bravo, Alfredo! Just one question on horn scales: when new they look shiny and smooth, but do they become somehow dull over time? Is a wax recommended? I keep all my razors in Jarrod's silicone-treated sleeves if this does matter. Thanks.

An Ehrlick razor eh? I may have to keep an eye out for one of them. My last name has been mangled to that spelling a time or two so it'll be entertaining to show off if nothing else.
DOc is great to deal with, he's the first person I've ever sent my razors to for honing and his communication, turnaround and above all his edges are exceptional. I'd recommend him to anyone without hesitation.

I wouldn't worry about treating horn scales with 'kid gloves' I have quite a few from over 100 years ago and they are still shiny.
