Fake Baseball

I'm the one right in front of you, with the mustard down the back of my neck!

If it was the old Tiger Stadium I'd be behind a pillar. I always was.
I literally always was. Well, more than half the time. I felt like Charlie Brown. No matter how many were in the group, my seat seemed to be with my feet staddling a pole. My last time pole straddling was the night of OJ's slow speed chase. I finally just stood in the concourse watching the chase!

Comerica Park is beautiful, but give me the character of the old stadium. I would gladly sit in an obstructed view seat today.

Fridays are Fishtastic!
No way this will continue. The Marlins just had19 people test positive. Their season is over. The NFL will be similar.

The same is true for football (soccer) here in the UK, no crowd but a fake soundtrack. It feels like the matches are being played for the benefit of sponsors and TV channels instead of for fans; I suppose that has always been the case in reality. I used to follow sports in a small way but have now lost all interest and could not case less about it. I am not sure that my former interest will return or if I even want it to. Overpaid players, and over commercialised money driven business milking fans for all they are worth; perhaps lower league or local sport may be the answer for me.

Perhaps, viewers who are seeking a much more realistic experience will abandon MLB in favor of WWF re-runs.

MLB permanently lost me as a fan after watching the first pre-game activities of the season. As far as I'm concerned, they can proceed to perform an anatomically impossible action upon themselves. (as well as the NFL, NBA and NASCAR)
I would much rather watch a Little League game, where the players still respect the game and appreciate their fans.

It's like a laugh track - if you have to be told to laugh, it's probably not that funny. If you have to be told to cheer, it probably wasn't that great a play. Just your standard 6-3 out (not that you can't cheer for that).

They have, periodically, experimented with "no broadcasters" as an available feed. I have enjoyed the games I have watched in this fashion. You have to really understand the sport, for it to work, but it is an interesting change, and I found myself paying more attention to the action.

I wonder if this might be the better option. No crowd noise, and no broadcasters blathering on incessantly.

I'm a Nationals fanatic and a baseball traditionalist; No DH, small ball production of runs, pitchers pitching complete games or at least going through 7. I tried to watch my first Nats game of the season last night and could not bear it. I will wait for next year.

The right field upper deck of Tiger Stadium were the best cheap seats in all of baseball.
The last game I saw with my Dad was in those seats!

Cecil Fielder hit a home run to center field that was about ten feet high when it crossed over second base! It then went over the wall by probably thirty feet. To this day I've never seen a rocket like that.

If not for the seats I think that thing would still be rolling!

It's sad.

I have gone to a few minor league games here in Michigan. The last time they gave us a tour of the "underground" areas of the stadium. In the seventh inning my son ran the bases, and the mascot stole his camera and horsed around with it, taking a selfie with he and his friends.

Yeah, I don't think I'll see any major league games again.

I paid $5 for the Minor league games. And that included a hot dog, chips, and a soda.

I've been to only two MLB games. The first was 1970 in the Astrodome...Astros vs Mets. My dad bought me a small bat and an Astro's pennant. Wish I still had those. The Mets won 2-1. Then in 1996 I went to another MLB game in the Astrodome...Astros vs Mets. The Mets won 2-1.

Lol! The Mets should have paid for your seats!
