Extraordinary Generosity from a B&B Member

By now, pointing out the openhandedness and generosity of members here is like pointing out the sunny weather in southern california or the rain in England. It's just the way things are. But yesterday, I was stunned by the kindness of another member who not only bought lunch (an argument which he won), but lent me a selection of brushes that staggers the mind. I'm trying to get better at understanding what makes a brush work or not work for me and so he thoughtfully assembled a group of heavyweights that would help me get there. Here's a pic of them looking out the window in my NYC hotel room:

And here's a pic in the hotel Shave Den of them assembled for work:

Over the next couple of weeks, I'll post what I hope to learn, but wanted to quickly and publicly say "thank you" and let other members know about the extraordinary largeness of spirit one finds here.

Well done! That should set you on the right path.

I could not agree more about the largess and quality of our members.

Fantastic!
The generosity of B&B members always makes me smile.

Do let us know which one you like best.

Amazing generosity. You are very fortunate, as there is no better way to determine which brushes work for you than to try different ones for a while. I ended up buying a lot of brushes before I figured out what I preferred in terms of loft, knot diameter, and softness vs. stiffness.

I'll be posting later and am taking notes as I do the lather, but can already say that the two 2 band Thaters this morning were a revelation. Thought I understood what "no scritch" meant, but I was wrong. Also a shock how much difference a big brush makes. I could have painted the walls with the leftover lather. I travel with Proraso, but need to go to Pasteur's because these brushes need to be assessed with soap and I can't wait till I get back home.
