Experiences with Timor DE razors?

Servus!

The last line of resistance to wet-shaving nirvana is to get rid of my Mach 3 and get a decent DE razor.

I have a few options open to me from info that I have gathered from reading the forum - Merkur, Mühle, etc. I have found a butterfly DE from Timor via German Amazon (to see it, click here) but I have no further info other than the reviews. A search of the forum has netted me nothing other than the Timor blades are pretty good.

I bow to your superior knowledge and experience...

It looks like a Weishi - or a clone of it. Some have suggested that is identical to the Weishi 9306-C.

I have no personal experience, but http://badgerandblade.com/vb/showthread.php/250999-In-defense-of-the-Weishi has some positive things to say. Also, searching google for "site:badgerandblade.com weishi timor" turns up http://badgerandblade.com/vb/showthread.php/313038-Timor-TTO-vs-Weishi and http://badgerandblade.com/vb/showthread.php/176098-Anyone-tried-the-Timor-Razor among other threads.

Servus!

Thank you for that information. Despite my search, I did not see any of those pther threads. Then again, I never knew that it was also known as a Weishi...

As a beginner, I wonder if I should go for such a mild razor.

Timor is made in Germany as far as I can tell. Weishi is made in China out of aluminum.

Well, the consensus is that it's either a re-branded Weishi or a clone, neither of which are particularly good.

What amazes me are all the people who suggest buying a Gillette SuperSpeed that hasn't been made in decades. Where in the **** am I supposed to get one of those? I've never done eBay and most sellers refuse to ship to Europe.

Oh well, guess I'll stick to my M3 formthe time being...

Ebay. Some places specialize in selling vintage razors, but they are slightly more than buying on ebay and cleaning yourself.
