Experience with TGN 22mm Best Badger Short Loft

I am building a clear acrylic handle. It still needs more shaping and polishing.
The short loft is 55mm, as compared to the normal 65mm.
Would both of the knots have the same properties if set at the same loft? If so, I would only have to drill and paint approximately 8mm deep to achieve the desired final product.

Yes, at the same set loft, the short loft and normal loft are the same.
I was wondering the same thing a few months ago so I got both to experiment.
The handle looks good by the way.

The short loft is a nice knot. Yes they are the same but shorter hairs. They work well with vintage lucite handles because you don't have to ruin the original paint inside the handle by drilling them deeper.

I too think they give the same feel during a shave. I have made and use brushes with both and I could not tell you the difference in a blind lathering test.
