Experience w. Wilkinson 7-day Sets?

I recently picked up one of these sets on the 'bay, and I've always thought they looked pretty neat. The blades are wedge-type. I'd like to be able to see how it shaves, but I don't know where to look for resources on bringing the blades to shave-ready condition. Has anyone taken one of these out for a spin? Impressions?

25 bucks. It's missing the leather strop, though. I'll have to figure that part out.

I'm sure an auto-valet strop will work fine. lots of them on the 'bay including the odd nos one.

The suggestion that an alternate strop might work is helpful to me.
(I've got a couple autostrops that I've never used, but neither has the strop, either!)
I'm looking for someone who has actually used this type of set, though, to help fill in the gaps. Advice, experiences, tips, stories, pointers, tutelage -- I'm thirsty for it all.
