Word sometime back was that certain species of exotic hardwood (rosewood and grenadille to mention just a couple) would not be permitted for export out of the EU. I have noticed somewhat of a “lean” inventory of razors using these woods on some vendor sites. Anyone have some insight here?

not sure about an export ban, but I thought it was, or additionally was an import/new usage ban.

I found this a while back. Although the focus is on musical instruments, the issue of export of rosewood species would imagine should apply to all products using it.

That sucks but I can understand needing to limit it. Just glad I got my straight with rosewood scales before this hot. Love the way rosewood looks.
From what I recall, it seemed like the species they were concerned with were mostly Rain Forest varieties. I could be entirely wrong but I assumed it was due to conservation concerns. Sort of like ivory bans to help curb poaching of elephants?
