Exchange select blades (AAFES, military store)

Well I tried the cheapo exchange select blades today. Reading another post here it seems that people are thinking they're made by personna. I stuffed one in my DE89L with 2 shims under it and went to town. It was so darn smooth on the WTG pass that I literally had to look in the sink to see if it took any whiskers off. Seemed pretty good. It was nice and close for a WTG pass. The ATG pass was not as nice. It didnt get me that smooth and it seemed quite harsh. It was the first time in a long time that I actually saw some red. So far, not so good. I'm going to loose a shim tomorrow and give it another shot. Probably not going for an ATG pass though, I need to recover from this one.

This is a pleasant surprise! Several years ago I purchased some AAFES Trac II blades that were okay, and some others that were awful. AAFES has generally "better" stuff, and it's good to know this trend continues.
