Best. Pre-shave. Ever. I started using extra virgin olive oil as a pre-shave after some members on B&B recommended using it. It is just great. Keeps the face slick, reduces irritation and conditions the skin after the shave. I can't praise it enough.

I take a hot shower and splash my face with hot water from the tap. Then, with my face still wet, I rub the EVOO on to my face. Then I get my brush wet with hot water and shake off some water. I then proceed to put some soap on the brush and then lather directly to the face.

I will warn you that EVOO will cause your your hair to stick to the sides of your sink, but it's a small sacrifice for a great shave. Also, the EVOO has a distinct smell, but that smell won't transfer over. Finally, I finish with an aftershave.

I've tried this as well, and I've also tried mixing in a little castor oil to give the oil a cleansing factor.

Both seem to work well.
