While I wouldn't call it formal, it seems on me to demand a minimum level of sartorial respect.
Very straightforward scent dominated by tree moss. I wouldn't say young guys couldn't wear this, but it does lean a bit more serious and mature. Especially the serious part. To me, it doesn't smell "old fashioned" per se, but it is a scent that's been around since 1912 or so.
Reminds me of some of the 80s powerhouse scents. I find it a better "business" scent than a "dating" scent. But that's not to say some women would not like it a lot. If a woman likes a traditional manly man scent, this is a good one.
I like it quite a bit. But as you may find from subsequent responses, Eucris can be a polarizing fragrance. People love it or really dislike it. Few are lukewarm, from what I've seen.
You might want to contact Trumpers and order their set of samples, mentioning that you're particularly interested in Eucris.
I dont think I like the scent. That said I got the shave soap version of it, and can not stop seeking sniffs. Its a bit more "mature" than I care for. My girlfriend said it smells like an old man. You can take that as one vote for conflicted and one for not liking it. YMMV though.
I received a sample of Eucris from Trumpers, and tried it today. The scent is the same as in the bath and shower gel sample that I received earlier. According to basenotes reviews, there's a ton of oakmoss in it, and I like it a lot. However, there is also a spicy, black peppery note that I'm not so fond of. I actually prefer Curzon a lot more, and had picked up a bottle from Lee a couple of weeks ago - very glad with that decision.
Actually, the bottle I have says "tree moss," which I gather has become the substitute for oak moss which the EU is trying to ban from fragrance as an allergen.
The irony being that I have read some anecdotes that tree moss is evidently a bigger allergen. Don't know if it's true...
I'm 15 years old. I don't know what age or maturity has to do with it--that said I love the stuff. I also loved more than half the colognes GFT sent me.
That also said, I love tabac, Azzaro Onyx, TOBS Mr. Taylor, MWF, AV Musk, and OS
It's a nice scent. As stated before, it's a very masculine, kind of serious, respectable type of scent... more suitable in cold weather, IMO, but I do wear it year round. I think it's pretty versatile.
