Etched Gillette Promotional/Advertising Razors

Hello Everyone!

So after a long time of trying to get my hands on an etched advertising razor, my wish finally came true!

I just received a Old Type with a "Frick-Reid Supply Company" etching.

I was also hoping that members with other etched advertising razors would post theirs here so that we could have a single thread that we could come to for information about this cool category of Gillette razors.

The most common etched advertising razor model I have seen are the Old Types that come in the type of case that my razor came in. There is also a member here who has an etched Tuckaway (which he stole from me at the last minute on Ebay! :001_tongu) so hopefully he post a picture of that. Otherwise, I have not seen any other type of Gillette with etching. I'm sure some of the more knowledgeable members here will have more information.

Anyways, here is my razor.

Sweet razor. Glad you started this thread, I'm looking forward to seeing all the different examples.

Here's my "Use Ivory Soap" Gillette Old. I picked this one up on ebay, the seller had nothing about "Ivory Soap" on his description. Got lucky when I spotted it. Nothing super rare, but it's nice, shiny, and pretty much my go-to razor.

I remember seeing a thread like this from a long time ago, It would be nice to add on to that one but can't find it.

Here is the only one I have.

I've got a few different ones somewhere, but here's one that I happen to have a few photos already taken of. It's one of the "special" red-lining Tuckaways that was apparently given to Charles L. Sheppy, who was the chief engineer for the Pierce-Arrow Motor Car Company, by the Motor Products Corporation of Detriot.

Here's two more that belong on the thread:
The first is from a B&B thread, a Shell Motor Oil old type:

I can't provide photo credit, if it's beach of policy I'm happy to take it down.
Second is from an Ebay auction, Whiskey promotional travel razor:

Good idea, but you should change your title so others will know to post here.....such as
" Post all your Gillette Etched Razors here thread" or The Gillette Etched Razor Thread, post pics and info here! :wink2:

Sorry, but I couldn't resist it!
I had to put a photo of my New improved Tuckaway razor that a friend of mine engraved for me with my B&B name.
