ERN 1166 frown

Hello,

I just got this ERN 1166 for a steal. Unfortunately it has a little frown. The blade cleaned nicely with no pitting anywhere on the blade face. Small bit of putting on the tail and tang. The heel measures 20mm and the toe measures 22mm. What would you do to correct that? Thank you!

I think that you will get more advice in the honing forum. Post 'Advice on frown' or something like that. Also, if you include your general location, there may be someone who can help you out one on one.

Basically you need to hone back the toe and heal. Personally I would go past straight into a slight smile, but depending on your skill level you may not want to do that. If this is your first honing project, you may want to start with something easier.

Not my first honing, but it sure is the first frowning razor I own.. I read a bunch of stuff on breadknifing, but don’t want to do anything stupid and irreparable damage. It has a good blade left for a vintage. The toe is nearly 7/8 while the heels is in the 13/16 range.. Also for some reason the spine has an even wear... Atleast it looks like that to me...
