Erik Nording Partially Rusticated Signature Freehand Pipe

While only 2 of my 5 pipes are "premium" pipes, I really like my new Nording Freehand pipe that I picked up last week. Here are my impressions of it thus far:

1. It is beautifully made and drilled perfectly (much better than my Pete St. Patty's day 2012 Rhodesian).
2. It is a good smoker in my opinion.
3. This is a long smoker. It has about a 2" x 1" bowl and holds a lot of tobacco. My 1st smoke with this pipe packed with Erinmore Flake lasted about 2 hours.
4. Due to the large bowl, re-lights are difficult if necessary towards the bottom of the bowl. May be better with a match than a lighter.

In my limited pipe smoking experience, Nording makes a great pipe and I would not hesitate to get another one.

The beauty of a Freehand pipe is that every pipe is essentially unique.

I too have a big 'ol Nording Freehand that I absolutely love! It's a bit too heavy to clench but it's unique and I wouldn't hesitate to order another.

I was perusing the Nording freehands, and I was smitten by the size of the bowls. I will be buying at least one.

I was smoking one today actually. Here is a tip for relighting.

a) Turn the pipe upside down, (you will probably only lost a bit of ash).
b) Buy one of those flexible BBQ lighters.

That's schweet!

I confess I have developed a bit of a fascination with Danish freehands in the last couple of weeks. Specifically, the classic '70s axe shape - there is something wonderfully "period" about them. I keep seeing lower grade Karl Erics, Nordings and the like offered for what seem very reasonable prices online. With the Euro crashing vs the Aussie Peso, they are looking better and better value.
