Erasmic Discontinued??

I have been hearing bits, and pieces here, and there that Erasmic Shaving Cream may have been discontinued.

If that is true, it would sadden me, as I am just beginning to really like the smell of the cream.

I had a 50% tube of Erasmic Shaving Cream, that came as part of a shaving cream lot on the B/S/T. At first I couldn't get it to lather worth a crap, and I found the smell way too strong, and nauseating. Not one to easily give up, I revisited it about a week back, and have found I am falling in love with the scent, and getting really good quality lather from it.

So any truth to these rumors circulating about?

I think they are in the process of re-packaging, reformulating & adding new products. I cant wait to try the new post shave balm. The shave stick although reformulated without Tallow has been re-packaged in a new cool container

The shaving cream had Tallow in it?

I know the soap did, but I didn't think Tallow was a common ingredient of shaving creams? Am I wrong, and just not paying attention??

Apparently the Erasmic shaving cream has undergone a revamp in the spirit of the Erasmic stick. The cream now sports a new livery and I'm told that the formula is "new and improved" as well. A few tubes of the original formula are still out there without a doubt. If you are a fan of the original you might want to snap it up as the supply can't last forever.

To be perfectly honest I have no experience with the new cream--haven't even seen it. I'm waiting to see what people have to say about it before I consider adding it back to the Superlather lists. The stick (the only one that had the tallow by the way not the cream) underwent a change in formula about a year or so ago and is the worse for it. I haven't stocked it since. The soap is the only product that remains unchanged--so far.

He is selling it for $3.75 per tube, which is quite the bargain, as long as the new formulation performs as well as the old.

Erasmic was taken over by an Indian company, btw. Hence all animal products out the window. I've seen the new line on shelves; a gel and a cheap brush and a face wash, I think. The new formula stick is still widely available here, but maybe not for long; its main competitor is the Palmolive stick, which most guys now rate as way superior.

For any UK members, the old formula sticks and tubes of cream are still on the shelves in local pharmacies and supermarkets, sticks priced at about 60 pence and have seen the tubes for a pound.

I have yet to see the new range of products on the shelves here.

As above the olds tubes here in the uk sell for £1.00 and the sticks for £0.59, looking at their website the cream is going to be sold in a plastic tube though yet to see it or thier balm in the shops yet though i have seen thier can of foam and gel, shaving oil and brush i suppose they are getting rid of the metal tubes before launching the plastic ones so i dont think its going from our shelves but just re packaged for the 20th century, i love this cream and the smell and its always in my rotation and in it right now i also bought thier brush the other week at £2.59 and i am not going to compare to my badger hair ones but will say for the price its ok.

Just ordered 2 tubes, which should last me 2-3 years considering the volume of other products I currently have.

Interesting...very interesting. I was in a shop which sells it a couple of weeks ago and took a look at the ingredients. Tallow was nowhere to be found.

I contacted Bob at http://bestgroomingtools.com/ . He in turn talked to England and said they would be repackaging but that there was no word on any reformulation.
