English Fat Handle Tech?

Hi Guys,

I recently picked up what I thought was a typical US made Tech. When it came through I noticed a different guard with 'Made in England'

Were some Techs made in England with different guard, or is this guard from another model?

I've included images. Standard USA Tech on right with the 'Brit' on the left

Any info appreciated.

Although I'm fairly new to this, I can't think of any other Gillette with a solid bar guard that used a screw in handle except the Tech, and it looks the razor goes together as it should.

The Gillette Collectors Handbook shows two different English Techs with two different types of handles (pp. 272, 275), so unless anyone else says otherwise I'd assume that whatever you bought is the original.
