This thread will be for honoring the memory of any fallen Police, Firefighters, EMS personnel or any other 1st responder.

The death of the officer has been big news here in the Metroplex, as should be. This morning local radio host Mark Davis aired the RPD's Dispatch "Last Watch" call to the officer and I nearly had to pull my car off the road. What a emotional hit that was. Bless all those who serve in the Thin Blue Line.

The “last call” brings tears to my eyes every single time.
You can find them online.
The one for the man who gave me my 1st policeman’s job reduced me to crying like a baby. Helicopters in the missing man formation, riderless horse, bagpipes and amazing grace, and TAPS fading into the background. Lastly dispatch calling his call sign and he not answering and dispatch signing off with No response and the time!
I have goose bumps writing this.

I thank all of you for this honor to the profession!!!
I cannot say in words what it means to me

Yeah Marty...I'm sure you know the online list.

2018

I've been to a few funerals, but I wasn't on Honor Guard but did wear the white gloves and shoulder braid.

I have a feeling the S.O. is calling me...just need to get my training current.

Since TCOLSE has went to TCOLE...does that mean they are called Tickle now? :biggrin1:

I took the following from Facebook. But it hit me as poignant. 18 years on the job for me. Thank you for this post as a tribute area. 2018 certainly has started out rough.

From Officer Daniels Facebook page:

As we learn of yet another ambush on law enforcement, I would like to remind you that you can be against police brutality and pro law enforcement simultaneously. Thy are not mutually exclusive.

In fact, one does not exist without the other.

Hard lines in the sand are destroying this country. I anticipate the day that we can drop the stigmas, the labels, and the desire to stand against one another.

Division is profitable. Don't buy into the hype by taking things at face value. Being desensitized by the loss of life, regardless of citizen or cop, is a direct reflection of how we see each other as human beings.

Lets build a better tomorrow together.

A white gloved salute...too many. Too many to even list before the message board cuts me off due to too long of a post...it takes multiple posts.

The majority are by gunfire.

Something seems to have put a hole in our moral fabric.
