EJDE89L Head Blistering Clarification

Good day gentlemen,

I recently wrote to the English Shaving Company regarding the issue of blistering and burring on the underside of the DE89L endcap. This is their response:

'I have looked at your images and compared it to new heads here. This is considered to be quite acceptable for the underside/inside of the cast metal head and within normal standard for this DE component. The formerly used Merkeu (sic) heads had a similar rougher look to them as any cast metal does.

The underside of the DE head is not expected to be completely flawless as it is just not possible to get a perfect finish in such manufacturing processes. In the very unlikely event of any chrome plating actually starting to come off of course we would replace the part with no hesitation but this head illustrated is not faulty.'

So concerned 89L owners, now you know: it's normal.

Best,

The build quality on the Muhle heads is normally first rate, mine are fine. Providing there is no deterioration in the plating itself and it doesn't interfere with usability it should be ok.
