Wow..made out of silver...that is not an inexpensive upgrade, to be sure.
93.5% pure silver. The rest of 6.5% must be the brass post.

Pfft, with that money you can buy a lifetime supply of vinegar and a DE89 top plate.

I ordered a new R89 direct from Muhle last Sat night, and it arrived today (Thurs). This has been my favorite razor head over the last 10 years, even as I try high-end $240 heads.

So you have a new head and an old handle. Is there a point to this?
If a completely new razor costs $40 and lasts ten years, that figures to $40/yr.
I figured it was a typo, but it did make me laugh (hence my "reaction"). 
You can buy a Gillette Heritage for $32 USD right now on amazon.. It's a Muhle sourced R89 top plate/head with USA made vintage inspired handle. Comes with a 5 pack of plat blades and a travel case. Razor is around 63G total weight.
The P&G art of shaving model (fully made in Germany by Muhle) recently dropped to $16 pre black friday. I got a few of those to gift to friends/family... Only issue I noticed with this model is that the handle is very light.. total weight with R89 head is 53-54g.
