Einstein's method!

Ok, this might be a B&B social suicide, but here it goes. I feel like cursing in the church.

I've read once that Einstein had said that the best idea he ever had was when he found out that you don't really need special shaving soap, as ordinary soap works just as well.

Is anyone here shaving with ordinary washing soap?

I seem to recall somebody using Dove soap for shaving. But not all soaps are created equal. I tried some fancy body soap whose brand I can't remember for one shave and it totally sucked. I've used Hugo Naturals body soap (wrote a review) and it was comparable to VDH in shaving quality.
Historically there has been a difference from shaving soap and body soap. Williams has been around since 1840 and a lot of people think it makes a better body soap.

One can emulate Einstein for his wonder, his tenacity in noodling through the impossible, or for his humor.

His grooming? Maybe not.

Einstein didn't win a Nobel Prize for shaving, nor did he win one for relativity.

In fact, his name is often used as a pejorative, as in "Nice going, Einstein."

A regular soap make good lather but is to dry to use , dont used like a shaving soap is to dry to your face . the only way to used is wet your face and face lather but why use bath soap when in the maket have very good shaving soap.

Agreed.

Einstein refused to wear socks and preferred the common cotton sweatshirt as standard dress for all events formal or otherwise.

Not taking his advice on grooming, thanks.

Of course you can shave with ANY soap, or oil, or lotion, or just water, but I don't think you will get as comfortable of a shave as with a shaving soap. A shaving soap is a soap that is developed to provide cushion and glide for the razor.

He also cut himself shaving if he let his mind wonder and he came up with an idea. If he used a proper shaving soap maybe he would not have. :biggrin1:

Williams was totally different back in the day which is why now its considered bath soap.

The guy also wore the exact same outfit almost every day; do we follow his fashion advice, too?

He's a freakin' idol in the scientific community and for very good reason. The man will be remembered for hundreds, if not thousands of years and his genius was beyond repute. I've also known geniuses that dressed like hobos and could barely walk and chew gum at the same time.

Not sayin', just sayin'.

Moar D.R. Harris, pleez.
