Edwin Jagger Shaving Bowl or Mug?

I am looking at getting one of the above but haven't found any reviews on them and am not sure as to which ones would be most optimal for working a lather. I like the security of the mug but I also like the ergonomics of the bowl. Has anyone used either of these?

I owned the bowl and I sold it. It is designed to hold the EJ soap and was too small to build lather. I have the mug but I mainly use it for soaking my brush. It too is a bit small for lather building, my brush was always hitting the sides. I now own a DB 1.5 scuttle that is perfect for lather building.

This was the EJ bowl I owned:

I bought my brother the bowl in black. I used to to show him how to work up lather and I thought it worked great. I liked that it had more room to swirl the brush. Now I want one. Haven't used the mug with the handle but bet it would be nice.

So that smaller bowl was designed just for the soap and not for cream lathering? And you find the mug of little use because of its size? Hmm, maybe I'll have to look into getting a Vulfix scuttle, but not sure how well it works for creams.

The bowl is not flat at the bottom but is raised for the soap to sit on. The center image here kind of shows it:

The Vulfix scuttle like the one below is also a soap only scuttle:

As mentioned in this thread, a Vulfix scuttle will not work with creams.
