Edwin Jagger DE89L vs Merkur 34C HD

I already have a Merkur 34C and I want to try whats out there. I have a OC on the way but there's a deal going on where the Jagger is pretty cheap.
Would getting the Jagger be a new experience? Or is it a pretty similar design to the Merkur?

I saw a deal @ Royalshave for $27 for the DE89L with lined handle. I actually grabbed one. Orders over $25 qualify for free shipping as well. $27 out the door. I have tried many razors, but have yet to try this one. I snagged one. There are many B&B'ers that have been keeping one in rotation for years. Figured I'd give one a try. As to your question, I've tried a 34C- sold mine. Didn't really use it enough. I don't know if these are similar. At this price, if I don't care for it, B/S/T it goes.

I like the look of the 89L more, but it sits in the cabinet as I like the more aggressive 34C.

The EJ with a feather blade provides an excellent and smooth shave. I like the feel of it much better than the 34C.

They both shave on the milder side, which is what I need in a razor. However, I much prefer the Edwin Jagger head over the 34C, although I like the weight of the HC. The EJ is one fine razor. Enjoy.

I have both and prefer the Merk for one reason. The EJ I have seems to have very sharp edges on all four corners of the base plate and makes for an uncomfortable shave.

They're both great, but I prefer a Merkur slant, if I'm not going to use a straight.

There's not a lot between the two but the grip on the 34C is much better.
