Would this be a good choice ?

I'm not sure about the handle but the razor is great for your first. It was mine and I'm hard pressed to get a more comfortable shave with anything else. It's still one of my favorites, its not too aggressive, finished beautifully and I get great shaves with it

It is a great razor, many folks here recomend it as your first one. I got the 89l, which just has a different handle when I started. I have a few vintage razors and the EJ is still my favorite.

It is what I started with. Very high quality. It may be the only one you ever need, or not...
Turned out to be too mild for me, but it is more forgiving than a Fatip!

Great razors, great mirror finish chrome, good weight and quite cheap,
i have 2 faux ebony handled ones and a recently purchased barley chrome handled one, very popular razors, i would be happy to stick to edwin jaggers, may buy a few spares soon.
