Economical 2 band brush.

I'm not pretending this is in anyway comparable to a Rooney or Simpson 2 band but if you want to experience a two band for face lathering soaps and you have the tools it might be an option. I like the faux ivory so I sacrificed my old Vulfix 404 mix ($15) and ordered a Finest 2 band knot with Xtra hair ($25) from Golden Nib and a little shop time.
I have found it to be soft tipped, nicely scrubby with plenty of backbone and with the loft set at 48mm it is stiff enough to pick up plenty of soap easily.
It absolutely murdered my MWF in London hard water and produced plenty of lovely rich lather.

That's a lovely looking brush. I am also interested in the logo on your Simfix - is that the new label - no sticker? The old "water soluble" Simpson sticker used to be a major topic of discussion on this forum!

How has the knot held up, I've heard these are shedders for a week or 2 and then they level off? Looks beautiful, by the way>

Exactly, I put the knot through quite a bit of abuse by setting it at different lofts 45,48 and 50mm to see what I preferred and it did shed during that trial period as pre warned by Golden Nib but as you say it levelled off and has not shed since.

Sorry I don't know anything about the label on the Chubby. I'm just assuming this brush is a Simfix as it was bought this year.
