One occasionally sees members asking about ebay deals and how good they might be. These questions usually appear in the razor section and cologne section. "Is this a good seller?" "Would this Creed be legitimate?" Responses tend to be general cautions or advice to check for feedback somewhere. I suspect that most people look to eBay itself for feedback, checking seller's positive feedback percentage.
There are other tools to check ebay sellers. I personally have been using two: Toolhaus.org and the eBay Tools at Goofbay.com. These tools allow one to look at the positive, neutral and negative feedback left by buyers, for the response (if any) the seller has made, and for any change to feedback made by ebay based on the response.
There is an important cavaet in reviewing the information these tools provide: as one should not necessarily believe what the seller states in advertising a product, one should not necessarily believe what the buyer claims after receipt. For instance, I personally wouldn't know a legimate Creed from a fake, so any comment I make on authenticity would be without foundation.
I look for trends, both in products sold and responsiveness. And if I have questions, I know I am suppose to get answers from the seller before I bid on ebay.
Hope that using this tools will be of some value. Suspect there are many other tools out there; these are just ones I stubbled across.
